Due to the great success Capcom developed further games, which were closely oriented to the playing principle of Resident Evil and partly by the same programmers. These games were also successful as critics and laid the foundation for their own series.


Dino Crisis: The Resident Evil zombies have been replaced by dinosaurs, the setting in abandoned factories, graphics, controls and the overall mood of the game have been transferred. There followed two sequels and a Lightgun offshoot Cosplay Costumes
. The producer of the first part was also Shinji Mikami.


Onimusha: The setting has been moved from the present to feudal Japan. Accordingly, the player no longer fights mainly with firearms but with swords. The zombies were replaced by undead demons; Control, graphics and gameplay remained the same. The Onimusha series still consists of four parts and two branches.


Devil May Cry: The first Devil May Cry was originally developed as the fourth part of the Resident Evil series. In the course of the development, however, an excessive deviation from the previous game concept has been identified, whereupon Devil May Cry became an independent brand and the fourth part of Resident Evil once again focused more strongly on its predecessors. Devil May Cry brought it today to four sequels.


Dead Rising: In 2006, Capcom released a new zombie-themed game, the game is also a homage to the horror movie classic Zombie by George A. Romero. The main focus of Dead Rising is more on action. A continuation appeared in 2010; Both titles have never been officially published in Germany due to the protection of youth protection, foreign versions are seized.

Resident Evil: Afterlife - The fourth part ran from 10 September 2010 on US cinema walls. As executive producing companies, the German Constantin Film production, Impact Pictures and Davis-Films again took over, Sony Pictures took over the American distribution Guilty Gear Costumes
. In Germany the film also ran in 3D from September 2010 onwards.
